Every section, one at a time: what each band is for, and the one or two settings in it that actually change how it looks.
Every band has a Color scheme, and most have a Card color scheme for the cards inside it. Those two are on everything and are not repeated below.
Bands that show your food #
Menu board #
Your menu in tabs — one tab per course, dishes and prices underneath. Add a Category block per tab. This is the theme’s centrepiece; most home pages should have one.
Menu grid #
One course as a grid of cards. Choose the course and how many to show. On a course’s own page, leave the course empty — it then shows whichever course the diner opened, with filters and paging.
Product carousel #
A shelf of dishes that scrolls sideways, with arrows. Good for Today’s specials or Chef’s picks.
Related items #
Appears under a dish. It has two modes:
- Related items — Shopify picks them. A way through to something else.
- Items that go together — you pick them, in the Search & Discovery app. These can be added to the order straight from the card, because suggesting a side with a main is an invitation to order it.
Bands that tell your story #
Hero banner #
The big opening photograph. Headline, a line of text, up to two buttons.
Image with text #
The workhorse. A photograph beside some words, and optionally: Feature blocks (icon plus a line), Statistic blocks (a number plus a caption), or Detail rows (for hours or an address). Used for your story, your chef, and offers.
Rich text with media #
A short statement framed by two images. Use it once, near the top.
Video banner #
A film of the room or the kitchen. It does not load until somebody presses play, so it costs nothing until it is wanted. Give it a Poster image — that is what people see first.
Gallery #
A wall of photographs. One Image block each.
Icon columns #
Three or four short promises with icons — delivery, opening hours, local suppliers. Keep each to a few words.
Team #
Your chefs, four to a row. One Person block each.
Testimonials #
Reviews, one at a time, with a rating and a portrait.
FAQ #
Questions in two columns that open and close. Also helps you appear in Google.
Bands that get you a booking or a message #
Book a table #
The booking band. See that chapter.
Contact info #
Address, hours, phone — as Detail blocks with icons — plus a button and up to two photographs.
Contact form #
Name, email, message. Sends to your store’s contact email address. Nothing to connect.
Map #
A still photograph with a Show the map button. The real map only loads when somebody presses it.
Social gallery #
Your Instagram grid — as images you upload, one Post block each, with a link on each. It is not connected to Instagram, which means it never breaks when Instagram changes something.
The escape hatch #
Custom Liquid #
A band you can put anything into — a snippet an app gave you, a table of opening hours, an embedded booking widget. Whatever you paste is drawn as-is, on the page’s own column.
Careful
This is the one place where a mistake can break the page. Duplicate your theme first, paste, look, and only then publish.
