Six of your pages come already designed. You do not build them — you create each one and tell Shopify which design to use.
How this works #
Normally a Shopify page is a box you type into. These six are different: the design is already made, and the page just needs to exist so the design has somewhere to live.
In Shopify: Online Store → Pages → Add page
- Give the page a title. This becomes the big heading on its banner, so write it the way you want it read.
- Leave the content box empty. These designs do not use it.
- On the right, under Theme template, choose the matching design from the list.
- Save.
| Make a page called | Choose this template | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| About us | about | Your story, what you stand for, some figures, your head chef, a gallery |
| Our chefs | chef | Your team, four to a row, with their links |
| Testimonials | testimonial | What people have said, with ratings |
| Contact | contact | Address, hours, phone, a map, and a form |
| FAQ | faq | Questions in two columns that open and close |
| Book a table | reservation | The booking form and your details |
If the template is not in the list
The theme you are editing is not the theme those designs live in. Check you are looking at the right theme — it is easy to have a duplicate selected. Publishing the right theme also makes its templates appear.
Then fill them in #
Once the page exists, go back to the editor, switch the page dropdown at the top to your new page, and edit the bands.
About us #
Twelve bands, and you will want to change the words in most of them. The two worth knowing about:
- Feature blocks — a small icon with a line of text beside it. Used for the things you want remembered: local suppliers, everything made here.
- Statistic blocks — a big number with a caption. 18 years, 40 seats, 2 chefs. Three or four is plenty; more and none of them land.
Our chefs #
One Person block per chef: a portrait, a name, what they do, and any social links you want to show. Only the links you fill in appear.
Portraits
Until you upload one, each card shows a grey placeholder. Portrait shape works better than landscape here — the card is taller than it is wide.
FAQ #
One Question block per question. Type the question and the answer; the theme handles the opening and closing. Tick Open by default on the one question everybody asks.
These questions also help you show up in Google — the theme quietly hands them over in a form search engines understand, so your answers can appear in search results.
Contact #
The details band takes a Detail block for each thing — address, hours, phone. Each has an icon you pick from a list, and a link if it should be clickable.
The map does not load until a visitor asks it to, so it does not slow your page down. Paste an embed link from Google Maps or OpenStreetMap into Map embed URL, and set a photograph as the still that shows beforehand.
Getting a map link
In Google Maps: find your restaurant → Share → Embed a map → copy the link inside
src="…". Paste just that part.
