To set up Reservics, install the app from the Shopify App Store, then complete the 5-step onboarding wizard: Welcome, First Location, Hours, Booking Rules, and Theme. The wizard creates your first venue, sets your weekly hours, sets your booking rules, and adds the booking widget to your storefront. When you finish, your store is taking reservations.
Step 1: Install Reservics from the Shopify App Store #
- Open the Shopify App Store and search for “Reservics”.
- Click Add app, then Install to add Reservics to your store.
- Approve the access Shopify requests. Reservics opens inside your Shopify admin.
Step 2: Start the onboarding wizard #
After install, Reservics opens the Onboarding wizard. It has 5 steps. You can move forward and back, and the Home page keeps a first-run setup checklist if you need to come back later.
The 5 steps at a glance:
| Step | What it does | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Welcome | Introduces Reservics | Orients you to the app |
| 2. First Location | Creates your first venue | Bookings always belong to a location |
| 3. Hours | Sets your weekly opening hours | Diners can only book inside open hours |
| 4. Booking Rules | Sets capacity and party-size rules | Prevents overbooking |
| 5. Theme | Adds the widget to your storefront | This is what lets diners book |
Step 3: Create your first location (wizard step 2) #
A location is one venue (your restaurant). Every reservation belongs to a location.
- Enter your restaurant name and details for your first location.
- Save to continue.
You can manage venues later on the Locations page. On the Free plan you can run 1 location. Pro allows 3, and Advance is unlimited. See Run multiple restaurant locations.
Step 4: Set your operating hours (wizard step 3) #
- Set your opening hours for each day of the week, Sunday through Saturday.
- Days you leave closed will not show any booking times to diners.
On the Free plan each day has one shift. Pro and Advance unlock multiple shifts per day (for example Lunch 11:00 to 14:00 and Dinner 17:00 to 22:00) and date overrides for holidays. See Set operating hours and shifts.
Step 5: Set your booking rules (wizard step 4) #
These rules control how many diners you can seat and how bookings are spaced.
- Set your total capacity (the number of seats at this location).
- Set the minimum and maximum party size you accept.
- Set your booking interval (the slot grid, for example every 15 or 30 minutes) and your default booking duration.
- Set minimum advance notice (hours) and the advance booking window (how many days ahead diners can book).
- Choose an approval mode: auto-confirm bookings, or require manual approval (those bookings start as Pending and hold the seat until you approve).
Reservics prevents overbooking automatically. Free seats for a date equal your capacity minus the party sizes of overlapping active bookings. End time is exclusive, so a 10:00 to 12:00 booking does not block a 12:00 start. See Capacity and party size.
Step 6: Add the widget to your theme (wizard step 5) #
The final step adds the booking widget to your Shopify storefront. The widget is mounted natively in your theme, with no iframe, and diners book without creating an account.
- Follow the Theme step to enable the Reservics blocks in your theme.
- Save and view your storefront to confirm the booking button or widget appears.
For full placement options, see Add the booking widget to your storefront.
You are now taking bookings #
When the wizard is done, your store accepts online reservations. From here you can:
- Watch reservations arrive on the Bookings page, where you can search, filter, and create phone or walk-in bookings.
- Track performance on the Dashboard (today’s bookings, the next 7 days, no-show rate, and Tonight’s Schedule).
- Customize the booking form, emails, and branding under Settings.

Frequently asked questions #
Do I need a paid plan to start taking bookings? #
No. The Free plan lets you install Reservics, set up 1 location, and take online reservations right away. You only need a paid plan for extras like deposits, the waitlist, staff roles, multi-shift hours, and WhatsApp notifications.
How long does Reservics setup take? #
Just a few minutes. The onboarding wizard walks you through 5 steps: Welcome, First Location, Hours, Booking Rules, and Theme. When you finish the wizard, your storefront is ready to accept bookings.
Do diners need to create an account to book? #
No. The Reservics booking widget lets diners reserve a table without signing up. They can also manage or cancel their booking later through a secure link in their confirmation email, with no login required.
Can I change my hours and rules after setup? #
Yes. Everything you set in the wizard can be changed later. Open the Locations page, select your venue, and use the Hours & Schedule and Booking Rules tabs to update opening times, capacity, and party-size limits at any time.
Will the booking widget appear on my storefront automatically? #
The final wizard step (Theme) adds the widget to your Shopify theme. After you enable the blocks, view your storefront to confirm the booking button or widget shows. You can adjust placement anytime from your theme.
